Feb 28th- Final Upwards Basketball Game- Taylor
Can you believe I was talked into letting Taylor play basketball only 2 weeks after his accident????
When Tay got his stitches out, his doctor said there was no medical reason that Taylor couldn't play. Needless to say, I was out-numbered once this bit of information got to Daddy's ears!

Noah had to sit through A LOT of basketball during the Upwards season since both Matt and Tay played. He couldn't stand me video-taping his brothers without getting in on some of the action!

Thank God for Normal!
Taylor went to school for the full day Thursday (yesterday) and he is there again today.
He's been able to brush all of his teeth for a few days and he's been able to do some very light chewing. He will get his stitches out on Tuesday.
He's really getting back to normal. He can fully smile and laugh without any pain and he's back to his goofy self. When I asked him how school was yesterday he said "normal".
Thank God for Normal!

Remembering...
In my daily Bible reading (Daily Walk through the Bible), I recently read about the Israelites leaving Mt. Sinai for the promised land (this is also what the boys and I are studying in BSF).
No sooner has Mt. Sinai faded from view than the congregation begins to grumble and complain. The manna is monotonous... water is scarce... the journey is hard etc.
Now, step back--- God has just re-affirmed His promises to them and He is going with them and they can SEE Him in the pillar of clouds leading the way. God rescued them from slavery in Egypt, made His home among them in the Tabernacle, yet as soon as things get a little bit tough, they forget all that and start complaining.
So, how does this apply to us?
God just saved Taylor from terrible consequences-- even possible death. For days I was on a high and NOTHING got me down, nothing could steal my joy! I was basking in the Love of the Father and His Mercy and Grace.
But 6 days have now gone by and the kids are bickering and pouting about things not being fair and our disposal is broken... just the typical stuff that could steal our joy if we focus on it.
My desire is that our family would be able to rise above the daily joy stealing situations we find ourselves in and focus on God's Love and Grace and Mercy... and REMEMBER all that He has done for us! Any time we are tempted to complain or grumble... Remember instead.

Taylor Back to School- Tuesday
Taylor went to school for part of the day on Tuesday- I picked him up at 12:30. Mrs. Hickman (his teacher) and the rest of the kids made him feel special.
All the kids made him personalized cards on Monday-- very sweet.
I think Taylor's favorite things was eating ice cream at lunch.

Feb 14th- Taylors Accident- Part 2
Today was a LONG day in ICU. Taylor slept on and off. We were visited by many Dr's-- Neurologist, Pediatrition, Head/Nose/Throat specialist (our Dr. that did the stitches the night before-- Dr. Farris), on-call Dr. etc.
Taylor's progress was continually monitored throughout the day. We were told that the results seemed too good to be true, so they kept running tests to make SURE nothing major was wrong and nothing was missed. Taylor is so precious-- we were glad they were so thorough.
Thanks to all those that came to visit us Saturday. Many of you weren't able to see Taylor because he was sleeping, but I really appreciated the visit! Jamie, I'm especially grateful to you for the coffee :)
By 4:30pm, Dr. Farris gave us the news that we could go home-- there was no reason for Taylor to stay any longer! Within 30 minutes, the nurse rolled Taylor out to the van. We were home before 5:30 PM-- less than 24 hrs after the accident!
We got a beautiful surprise when we arrived home! Cathy (my sis and very best friend), her daughters and my precious oldest son, Matthew, had cleaned the house and hung a "Get Well Soon" poster for Taylor.
Jeff surprised me with an awesome Valentine's gift!--a FLIP video camera, which allowed me to make e-mail sized videos. I think it's one of my favorite gifts ever! Thank you Jeffery!
We had so many family members and friends out of town, we decided to make a video of Taylor so everyone who was concerned and had been praying could see how great he looked after experiencing such trauma and feel comforted and witness the answer to their prayers!
