What do the following have in common: Noah, apple cider vinegar & plantars wart?

I was ready to find a doctor to remove a large plantars wart from the bottom of Noah's foot. It was getting caught on things and was bothering him when he ran.

I began asking around about doctors and I am embarrassed to say a friend had to tell me about this natural method for removing warts!  I have never heard of it!

My friend Allison, and another lady we know, both successfully removed the warts from their daughters by using apple cider vinegar!

So, Noah and I tried it... each night we used a Band-Aid to "tape" a small piece of cotton swab that we had soaked in raw apple cider vinegar.  We were told it would probably take several weeks to a month for it to be gone completely.

We were SHOCKED by the outcome.... his wart was gone after 6 applications!!!  Within a week... GONE.  It was so interesting that we took a pic each morning to document how well it worked.

Morning after the first application:

Morning after 2nd application:

Morning after 3rd application:  part of it has come off and it's flattened out

Morning after 4th application... now it just looks like a scab

Matt wins Homecoming Queen (9th grade)

Yes, the moment every mother is proud of... when she opens up Facebook and finds that her SON has been elected "Homecoming Queen".

I love the fact that Matt doesn't take himself too seriously and can have a little fun, at his own expense.  From the parents who witnessed the event at the pep rally (which Jeff and I knew NOTHING about), Matt apparently hammed it up quite a bit!

Taylor-- Sept 2013 Student of the Month

It's hard to see from the glare, but the person in the top right hand corner, is Taylor, for the Explorers POD.  This is the 2nd year that Tay was elected "Hero of the Month" in the first month of school.  He must make QUITE an impression on the teachers (they are the ones that vote).  Yay Tay!

Noah's accident

Noah had an accident... he thought if he pulled out a blanket that was underneath some stacked doors, it would be like a magic trick and the doors wouldn't move.  No magic here... the doors fell on Noah and Taylor and Noah's face took the brunt of it.

The cut under his nose went all the way through... yuck!  Fortunately, they were able to use glue, instead of having to stitch him up!

Hopefully, with time, the scar will fade!

4th of july 2013

The 4th of July, 2013 was a beautiful day! Tradition held firm again this year... the Davis family, Gramma & Herman and Edith came for the annual pool party.

The boys were trying to do a 1 & 1/2 off the board.  Below are some of their dives/flips.

Morgan does a beautiful dive...

Taylor gets into the action:

Matt would not be outdone...

and Morgan answers with another flip...

There was a lot of goofing around...

and, of course, the annual pyramid building...

Spring Break 2013 Ski pics

Matt went on his mission trip to inner-city Memphis while the other 4 of us went to ski in Colorado.

Rebecca has a very nice friend (Kim) who allowed us to stay with her and Bec for the week.  Her condo was right near Beaver Creek ski resort.  Very nice... like Vail.

The boys went skiing with Jeff and I went snow shoeing while they were skiing.  The first day they ski'd with Bec and Kim.

I'll create another post that includes the videos Jeff took of them skiing.  This one will include only pics.

Getting out to CO requires driving through the mind-numbing state of KS.  Windy KS.  Straight, boring, monotonous KS.  The only thing interesting in that state was the enormous amount of windmills that have been erected.  It looked like an army of them!

We arrived at the condo and it was beginning to snow!

Below are some ski pics:

Tay and Noah all geared out!

And now for some Snow shoeing pics:
this was my fantastic view as I hiked all over Mccoy Park!

Yes, the picture below is an OUTHOUSE!
There wasn't any running water on top of the mountain :(

I hiked up and down this hill... got off the beaten path!

The pic below is a close-up of the one above.  Do you see the C shaped path in the center of the pic?
That is where the World Cup is held... they pour water on it to freeze it so it's good and slick... yikes!

Beautiful sky against the Aspen trees!

The day I hiked for 5 straight hours, I had this sandwich with me...
BEST SANDWICH EVER!

Our time is through in Colorado!  Good bye slopes!
